Also known as Apple Crumble, apple crumble is a
quick and easy English recipe , born in wartime. During those years, in fact, food was scarce and it was impossible to prepare the classic Apple Pie rich in ingredients. In this particular recipe from "Cucina di Barbara" the apple crumble is prepared with
Arifa, a mix of organic flours that lends itself perfectly
to sweet recipes .
Ingredients for 4/6 people
- 450g granny smith apples
- juice of half a lime
- 4 tablespoons of brown sugar
Ingredients for the crumble
- 80 g of Organic Arifa Flour
- 80 g of butter
- 80 g of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of oats
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Apple crumble preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°. Peel the apples and cut them into cubes, placing them in a bowl with the lime juice and sugar. Stir them.
In another bowl prepare the crumble, working all the ingredients with your hands until you obtain a mixture with the consistency of crumbs. Finally add the oats.
Now, in the baking dish, first make the layer of apples, leveling them and then cover with the mixture.
Bake in a hot oven for about 30 minutes, leave in the oven for another 5 minutes and serve the apple crumble hot.
